Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough

The Reason I Dressed

I don’t really remember ever wandering in Toronto. I usually left my house because I had somewhere to go. Toronto is not dense, but it is expansive, and usually you plan out how you are going to arrive somewhere and then ….go there!

Now that I’m a “tourist”, when I visit, I’ve learned to appreciate wandering more, and getting off the main streets to discover hidden gems that I didn’t have the mind set to find when I lived there.

Italy is a little different. It is made to be wandered. On any particular evening or weekend you can leave the house, naturally gravitate towards the Piazza (since all roads lead there anyway) and then from there find something else to do.

These photos were taken a few weeks ago when It was not quite t-shirt weather. Actually It’s been hot here but just yesterday it turned “chilly” again. And by chilly I mean Canadians would be in bikinis and Italians are in puffy coats, not kidding I actually saw a lady in a puffy coat yesterday!

We went to the cool Native American themed playground near our favourite ice cream place (I wrote about it here and shared what my son wore), then we went for ice cream (gelato), wandered to the centre of the city, found a Flower market and fair happening in a little Piazza, then we wandered some more until our son fell asleep in the stroller so we went to an aperitivo bar and had a cocktail on the patio while he slept.

At the fruit market there were also all kinds of vendors selling yummy things like fruit shaped marzipan (made with almond paste).

Even though we hadn’t planned on doing anything we still found something to do and something to see. Making plans after you have kids is not easy, and being flexible to just let the day flow and take it as it comes is the way my HUSBAND prefers to live. I’m the type of person that wants to make sure I “do something”, and living here I’ve found a happy medium between feeling like I’m “doing something” and not really doing anything at all.

What I Wore

Don’t I look just a week bit like The King of Pop in this outfit?! The socks, the rolled black jeans, the shoes….! Aside from all the weirdness that surrounded MJ, he will always be a legend. “Keep on, with the force don’t stop….Don’t stop ’til you get enough….”

Remember my look from this past week? I wore a 5 euro fringe, cotton scarf bought online from Asos way back in November! My grey blazer is one of my most favourite buys EVER, and I did a whole post dedicated to it here, it is soft, cotton and unstructured and if you want to pull a look together in NO TIME WHAT SO EVER, get yourself an unstructured blazer! I’ve paired it with a sweater bought on sale at Allen Club (you’ve seen this sweater before when I wore it here), a super chic boutique here in Modena, jeans I’ve probably had for 10 years, blue and grey striped socks and boots.

Oops…..? Did I say “boots”? I meant shoes! If you follow me on Instagram you know that a few weeks back it was raining and I was stuck indoors. I seem to get “creative” when I stay inside, doing things like turning my sons pants into shorts, turning my husband’s shirts into dresses and turning my own boots into loafers!

Am I the only one that gets tired of her stuff and randomly modifies it, without thinking of the consequences??? I really wanted loafers that day and I didn’t like the way those boots looked with jeans, but sadly I didn’t think of how cute they are with SHORTS.

Oh well, I guess this is an excuse to get myself another pair of short boots for the summer.
