I’m always trying to find beautiful art to fill the walls of our home. I love the occasional family photograph, but typically use them in more personal areas of the home, a gallery wall, & on a smaller scale in the family room. That leaves a lot of empty space! Throughout our home, I’ve hung the occasional clock, created my own art, & of course I purchase pieces from time to time. For our dining room, I wanted to add a little interest. I integrated vintage platters into the decor to give the room some depth.
A few years ago, at our previous home, Chris & I created a platter wall over our piano. I absolutely loved it & will likely do one again! I created a miniature version over the bar cart for our dining room makeover – in just 5 minutes!
Start by measuring & marking where you want your platters hung. Much to Chris’ dismay, I just eyeballed it this time. It’s much easier to do that when you’re only hanging 2! Of course you can see I completely photographed this without adjusting it a bit, but I decided to embrace my imperfections. {I’ve since given it a little tap}.
Clean & dry the back of your plates or platters well. This step is important so that the hangers adhere.
Using a disc adhesive plate hanger, follow the instructions to activate the glue with water & adhere to your platter.
Allow to dry 24 hours.
Hang on a standard nail.
*Okay, so I cheated…for larger platters & breakables, I highly recommend waiting 24 hours for the glue to dry thoroughly, but for lighter weight/smaller pieces, I’ve had success hanging immediately! Despite the few reviews on this product {which I in no way represent}, I’ve had a lot of success with them!
