Over the Christmas holiday, my dad and I baked a whole bunch of cookies: sugar cookies, peanut butter, oatmeal, but the best one we made was the chocolate chip cookie. We got most of our recipes from The Fannie Farmer Cookbook and I wanted to share with you this recipe. It is the best chocolate chip cookie you will ever taste!Best Chocolate Chip Cookies 2014-01-25 09:31:10

Ingredients
- 1⁄4 pound of butter
- 1⁄2 cup of dark-brown sugar (we used light brown sugar for a few batches and it tasted yummy as well!)
- ½ cup of granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 3⁄4 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1⁄8 cups of flour
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and grease some cookie sheets.
- Cream the butter, then gradually add the two sugars, beating until light and smooth.
- Beat in the egg and the vanilla.
- Mix the flour, salt, and baking soda together and add it to the first mixture, blending well.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Drop by teaspoonfuls onto the cookie sheets about 1 inch apart and bake for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned.
Notes
- Eat and enjoy! Don't be alarmed if they look a little flat. As you can see in the picture, that's how they are supposed to look but trust me, they taste amazing!
