12 Easy Watercolour Tutorials

I suddenly have an obsession with watercolours. I’m not a very artistic person (despite my dad being an artist) but I’d love to get started with watercolours and paint pretty things. I rounded up a few tutorials I found and would like to try out sometime. Maybe these can help you as well!

Some of these are done using the computer while others are done with paint and brush in hand. I tried to find some that start with the basics to others that are a bit more advanced, but still doable for beginners.

1. Make your own watercolour brushes in Adobe Illustrator
2. An easy way to watercolour numbers or letters.
3. DIY watercolour escort cards
4. How to mix watercolours
5. How to create a watercolour background using Phantasm CS and Adobe Illustrator (You could do this with Photoshop or something similar, instead of Phantasm)
6. Watercolour basics
7. How to watercolour with a stencil. When you want to paint but you don’t want to draw!
8. Easy watercolour portrait tutorial
9. How to paint a pear. This tutorial is a bit more advanced.
10. Watercolour lettering with Melissa Esplin
11. How to create watercolour flowers
12. Add a splash of watercolour to your letterpress wedding invites

Are you going to be trying any of these tutorials?
