Pain Relief with the truMedic TENS Unit

As someone with a chronic pain condition I am always looking for things that can help naturally as I try to limit medications.

The truMedic TM-1000PRO TENS Unit is a Deluxe TENS Unit which can help relieve aches and pains on just about any area of your body. I have widespread pain, but I have a particular “problem spot” with a lot of tension – my upper back and neck. In fact, I get frequent headaches that could be related to this tension, so I am always trying to find something that will help this tension and pain.

For my review I received the truMedic TM-1000PRO TENS Unit.

I have been using the truMedic TENS Unit on my upper back and neck. I appreciate that is has the option to just use two electrodes or four. It contains two lead wires that each connect to two electrodes. Sometimes I want to use it on just my neck and other times both areas. Plus it has three functions to from which to choose – Massage, Beat, and Knead. Or you can choose an automated massage program – Back, Shoulder, Joint, Leg, or Hand/Foot. These areas are just suggested, though you can use the automated massage programs on a different area than the one suggested.

I personally prefer the Massage setting and I love that I can easily set the timer and adjust the intensity. I always start on the lowest intensity and build up. I find just 3 is enough for me for my upper back and neck but it goes up to 20! Wow! The instruction booklet is very detailed, and it really helped guide me to choose the right setting and intensity.

It includes two sets of electrodes, so eight total electrodes. Although one set of electrodes is noted to last a while, it is nice to have a backup as well. After use, I simply stick them back on the plastic sheet, and they are ready to go for next time. I find for the most part they stick well, but I sometimes have problems with them sticking on my neck. I’m guessing this is because it is close to my hairline, though, because on my upper back they always stick well with no problems. I find I can keep them on my neck with a little extra pressure.

I find that using the truMedic TENS unit is so relaxing both relaxing overall and relaxing for the muscle tension. If you’ve never used a TENS unit before, you may be surprised by the tingling sensation, which is why it’s always best to start at the lowest setting and work up as necessary because if you set it too high it could actually be painful. Once in a while when I need deeper relief I will set it a little higher.

Overall, I’m so happy with this TENS Unit. The amount of features and functions is absolutely incredible. The Instruction Guide is so clear and helpful, and I love that it includes an extra set of electrodes and a nice carrying case. It helps relax my muscle tension and reduce my overall pain. Plus it has a charger, which is great so I don’t have to replace batteries!
