A tourist in NY

If you follow me via social media, I’m sure you already know that my flight to New York was a little bit of a nightmare. Let me tell you the story…

I connected through Atlanta and by the time I had to board, my flight was canceled because a tornado. Yes, you read it correctly: a tornado. It was my “Toto I think were not in Kansas anymore” kind of moment. Finally I was able to get into another flight, but it delayed and delayed, and I ended up arriving to New York at 3:00 AM. A good time to arrive home if your in a party, but not from the airport. It didn’t stop there, my suit case didn’t arrive. Yes, I told you it was a little nightmare. I usually don’t travel with clothes or anything more than my computer and camera in my hand baggage. So by the next day, I was in New York, touring the city with my clothes and flats from the day before (giu!). 1 airport day, and 5 blocks later the next day, all I wanted to do was to throw my flats away. The result? My best 12.5 dollars ever spent on shoes! I got into an H&M, looking for comfortable shoes and ended up buying this sneakers. The truth is that I think I only own two pairs of sneakers, my converse and running shoes, so this was one huge discovery. Sneakers are soooo comfortable!! The perfect companion to be a tourist in New York and one of the few times you’ll ever see me wearing this kind of shoes!

Conecté mi vuelo en Atlanta y para el momento en que tenía que abordar, me cancelaron mi vuelo porque había un tornado. Si, leyeron bien: un tornado. Fue mi momento “Toto I think were not in Kansas anymore”. Por fin conseguí otro vuelo, pero empezaron a retrasarlo y retrasarlo y cuando menos me di cuenta eran las 3 AM y yo apenas iba llegando a Nueva York. Una hora perfecta para llegar a tu casa si fuiste de fiesta, pero no para llegar de todo un día en el aeropuerto. La cosa no acaba ahí, y mi maleta no llegó. Si, les dije que era una historia de una pequeña pesadilla. Normalmente no cargo nada de ropa en mi maleta de mano, solo mi computadora y cámara, así que al día siguiente fui a explorar la ciudad con lo que traía puesto (no, esas fotos no van a salir a la luz! jaja) y los mismos flats, que para unas horas están súper bien, pero para todo un viaje tan largo y caminar por la ciudad son lo menos cómodo en lo que puedo pensar. ¿El resultado? Mis mejores 12.5 dólares gastados en zapatos! Me compré estos sneakers en H&M y no puedo creer lo cómodos que están. La verdad es que casi no uso o compro tenis, así que para mi es todo un descubrimiento! La mejor forma de turistear Nueva York y una de las pocas veces en que me verán usando tenis!
