La Mascara High Tea at Rippon Lea

A few weeks ago I received an invitation to attend a High Tea Garden Party at Rippon Lea, courtesy of La Máscara. Before I even opened the invite I was excited. Rippon Lea Estate’s reputation of hosting events is legendary, from birthday parties, corporate events, to weddings. Apparently getting married there is what dreams are made of. But I’d not heard of La Mascara before. Is it a makeup brand? Close, but no. La Máscara is indeed inspired by the beautiful and glamorous masks of the Carnivale festivals of South America and Europe, it is an alcoholic beverage label that includes only premium, natural ingredients. Having just released a range of alcoholic ice teas, named ‘High Tea’, La Mascara couldn’t have picked a better venue or a better day to host the garden party. Along with games of badminton and pétanque, guests were treated to pizzas from the ‘Happy Camper’ food truck, cupcakes from Cupcake Central, and of course, thirst-quenching ice teas from La Mascara.

Can’t get enough of those tortoiseshell cateye frames! 50s with a modern twist!

My dear friend Iolanthe is radiant in a blooming Mickey In The Van Skirt.

Vodka ice teas are served!

The coolest chick I met at the high tea: Leona, absolutely stunning in a Scanalan & Theodore dress & Acne heels

Check out the grandeur of the Rippon Lea Estate!

We had the opportunity to order pizzas from the Happy Camper. After sampling a myriad of flavours, my favourite was chicken & pesto. Food trucks are such a great idea for events!

After having devoured hundreds of Cupcake Central cupcakes, I can spot them from a mile away now. These were cleverly served on vintage record cake stands, befitting of the vintage theme.

It was great to catch up with Fashion Hayley, who has returned to Melbourne after working in Sydney for a few years. We are lucky to have her back!

Badmington looks even better in a vintage setting, it feels so European!

And look who I found at the garden party? This life sized doll is Charlotte from Winston & Willow. Love running into her at various events, from a rooftop party in New York to the Kailis dinner, Charlotte is not only stunning, she is an accomplished violinist too!

What have you got planned this weekend? Why not visit the majestic Rippon Lea Estate and try some La Mascara ice teas! Would love to hear your thoughts on them!

I wore: Vintage dress, Dolce & Gabbana Sunglasses, vintage bag (see more bucket bags here) & Peeptoe heels (see similar pair)
