Sunglasses are my downfall. I buy lots of those market-stall cheapy pairs and those £2 ones from Primark but I always end up regretting them. They break because they are made from rubbish brittle plastic or, because subconsciously I know they aren’t worth much, I let them languish at the bottom of my bag getting scratched or I lose them. Our sponsor for this instalment of Take 10 was Shadestation, who sent us each a pair of classic black Rayban Wayfarer 2140 sunglasses to wear. The Wayfarer shape is the ultimate classic- they remind me of James Dean, The Blues Brothers and John Hughes films, all wholly American retro. I bought my first pair about five years ago in a tortoiseshell shade, so the black is a nice change. My other pair is extremely hardwearing and after being taken on numerous sandy holidays, long flights and longer drives, they still look remarkably good for their age. We nipped out for some sunshine before all this rain set in so I wore a 70’s maxi dress I bought a few years back and my freshly cut hair (I had a couple of inches chopped off and it feels so much better!). Also, please say hello to Kim from Kim Loves Cloth. We had to say goodbye to Harriet, which made me sad, but Kim is a worthy replacement and has amazing hair. Do you have a pair of classic sunglasses that you go back to over and over again? Or do you prefer to keep them cheap and changeable?
