Review & Application: YSL FOREVER Light Creator CC Creme

This entry is a review of the new YSL Forever Light Creator CC Creme - I have here the shades Apricot and Rose. Before I go into the application and my thoughts here's the product information:

FLAWLESS SKIN DIFFUSES PURE LIGHT.

The first CC cream by YSL, integrating the GlycanactifWT™ complex, visibly corrects the appearance of skin tone irregularities immediately helping each woman to reveal their individual glow. Upon application, the lightweight refreshing texture with colour correcting pigments evens skin tone for a natural looking radiant effect. Skin's appearance is visibly improved: texture looks smooth, pores appear minimised and imperfections look reduced. Skin discovers an exceptional radiance and looks more flawless. Broad spectrum UVA/UVB helps to protect against the visible signs of premature skin ageing.

Suitable for all skin types, even sensitive skin. SPF 35.

Available in three shades to answer all skin colour irregularities:
Apricot: For a healthy golden glow
Lavender: For a natural bright glow
Rose: For a fresh rosy glow

The benefits:
Even-toned: the tinted formula conceals colour irregularities
Correction: improves the appearance of imperfections such as dark spots, pores and redness
Uniformity: evens skin tone and texture looks more refined
Radiance: helps to reveal skin's natural glow

Now available, S$79, at all YSL beaute counters & Boutique

Here are swatches of the two shades:

When I first received these, I reached for the Apricot shade (healthy golden glow - not me..) and I was using it for a week - but I didn't notice anything 'wow' about it... and then I soon moved on to other bases that I am reviewing. Now I know why.. as you can see in these swatches... Apricot is too dark for me. While I like the formula of this cc creme, I would prefer a more brightening effect. Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago, when I started using the Rose (fresh rosy glow) shade. Now we are talking!

Application

I normally use the YSL CC Creme as a sunscreen/ color correcting makeup base. Perhaps on light makeup days, I would use it on its own and set with powder. As you can see, the formula is very light... and blending is easy - I have applied it with my fingers and a brush, and both are easy to use.

Here you can see that the CC creme brightens up my skin tone.. but it is on the sheer side. I would still need a foundation for even coverage.
In the after picture, you can't really see a layer of product, but the sallowness of my complexion has been neutralised by the Rose shade of the CC Creme.

Overall thoughts:

The CC Creme has a glowy finish, and it does not feel gre asy at all. I find that it helps my foundations to go on smoothly, and the subtle glow still shows through. What I like about this CC Creme is that it is quite hydrating without making my t-zone oily or anything. Even though the Apricot shade did not work on me (too dark and dull) I think that if you are a shade or two darker than me, you can totally rock the Apricot shade on its own.

In terms of CC creme comparisons, I would say that this is quite similar to the Lancome Regenerie CC Cream. The glowy finish, and the benefits of even out your skintone and overall skincare benefits.

If you would like to try a lightweight CC Cream, you can't go wrong with the YSL CC Creme.

Hope my overview has been useful, and thanks for looking!
