Review & Application: Lancôme Blanc Miracle Liquid Foundation

Hi hi!!

This entry is a review and application of the new-ish Lancôme Blanc Miracle Liquid Foundation - I have been using this on and off for the past 2 months (along with several other foundations I am testing) and I feel like now I am ready to share my overall thoughts on it. When I first saw this foundation, I was most impressed by its high-SPF50 PA and lately I have been using foundations that contain this amount of SPF - which seems to be a 'trend' in most foundations formulated for the Asian market. I am always tickled whenever people in the US or UK would say 'this foundation has good SPF of 15-20' and they would be all like 'I can skip the sunscreen' when using the foundation) but here in Asia, or especially in Singapore, we consider SPF50 to be the decent benchmark. I guess here we are more conscious of protecting our skin from the sun's harmful effects. Anyway, this is just a sidetrack ramble, totally nothing to do with my review, so let's move on.

I have previously reviewed another SPF50 PA foundation, the Shuwalsoo cushion - click here for the review.

The Blanc Miracle contains the Lancôme Pollusafe™ technology, which acts to brighten and protect your skin as you wear the foundation on a daily basis. I only use this foundation in the day... so if I am getting ready to go out for the evening, I don't use this foundation, simply because I feel that the high suncreen factor is not necessary for the evening to night time.

The outstanding features of this foundation when I am wearing is the brighening factor - it is not glowy by any means though. Will go more into this in my application later in this entry.

Here's a swatch on my hand:

Here's the application -

One pump of the foundation is enough to cover my whole face. In this set of pictures, I am applying the foundation onto cleansed moisturised skin. These days, I guess this year onwards, I have stopped layering bb cream & foundation... simply because I didn't need to build up the coverage, nor needed the extra SPF... I just apply foundation straight after my skincare, and I find that the foundation alone is able to last the whole day, and my skin is generally sufficiently even-ed out anyway - I am saying this in general for all foundations I am using, not just for this particular one. Just a FYI!

So I will dot the foundation with my fingertips all over my face, before working it into my skin.
It is slightly creamy and easy to blend. As I blend out the foundation becomes more fluid and sets into my skin easily and quickly.

Here's a before / after - and I like how my skin still looks like skin but better - in terms of texture and color, obviously.

I usually set the foundation with whichever loose powder or compact powder at hand but for the sake of brand consistency here, I am using one of my fave Lancôme pressed powder to set the foundation. Note that I did not use any concealer in this review/ application, since there's nothing much to cover up.

I use the lightly press and roll method to set the foundation. If I am using a loose powder - I would usually use a powder puff. And here's the completed look:

Overall thoughts:

I like this foundation, and for those who are wondering about how this Blanc Miracle compares to the other Lancôme foundations, well, here's a quick breakfown:

Across the board though - the Blanc Miracle has the highest SPF.

compare to Teint Visionaire - Blanc Miracle has more coverage, longer lasting, not as dewy/ glowy
compare to Matte Miracle - Blanc Miracle is not as matte, equally long lasting
compare to Tient Miracle - Blanc Miracle is not as glowy radiant but it is longer lasting
compare to Absolue Essence - Blanc Miracle is not as smooth, and I personally prefer the smooth flawless finish of the Absolue

So I guess in the Lancôme foundation family, the Blanc Miracle is really one that suits someone who wants high SPF in her day use foundation, and someone who is concerned about whitening and brightening in general. If you are already on such a skincare routine, this foundation is the perfect accompliment to the whole makeup routine as well.

The foundation lasts a decent 8-10 hours on me, and it does slighty oxidise (but not noticeable after you do your whole makeup). Usually Lancôme foundations don't disappoint me, and this is no exception. I can't say which is better, but it is really up to your personal preference and lifestyle needs.

I hope my review had been helpful and thank you for reading!!
