Shiseido A/W 2014: Luminizing Satin Eye Color Trio OR316 Floracouture

Hi hi!!

Just want to share with you a palette which I have been enjoying lately. It is from the new Shiseido A/W2014 collection - along with two other trios, 5 new shades of the lacquer rouge. I will feature the lip products in a later entry. Just want to share with you this trio which I have been really using. (in case you are wodering why these eyeshadows look like they are popping out of their pans - that's because I was a klutz and dropped the whole box on the floor before I took pictures... fortunately nothing shattered, but the poor eyeshadows look shaken definitely!)

So anyway I always think that a plummy shade like this would quite hard to pull off especially on my eyes, but I found an unlikely partner to the plum shade in the middle orange. I don't have many orange shades, but this is a soft metallic orange that blends into a warm crease definition shade. It tones down and warms the plum shade and makes it look richer somehow. Very very autumnal.

swatches here - very smooth and intense. I shall share with you two looks I have done with this trio.

The first one is a tad more dramatic which I wore to an event -

applied with Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Color in OR313

I also applied the plum shade on my lower eye lids.
The overall look is more smokey and sparkly due to the shimmering base.

and a more wearable rendition using mainly the same color placement.
the plum shade on my lids and using the orange to softly blend and add some definition.

pardon my slightly sunburnt face from my recent staycation - was attempting to get some sun and color.

I really like the combination of orange and plummy purple in this trio. I haven't used the pink shade yet, but I will be using this palette again when I feature other products from this Shiseido A/W 2014 collection.

Nude lippy shown here is NARS Audacious Lipstick in Barbara.

Overall, the OR316 Floracouture eye trio is my top pick from the Shiseido A/W 2014 collection. It packs the right colors for this season and surprisingly easy to work with as the eyeshadows are so finely milled and there was no fallout at all. I do recommend you using a colored base if you want a really super intense look though. But on its own, building up to an intense color payoff is quite easily done.

Hope you enjoyed this quick review and stay tuned for more coverage on the Shiseido A/W 2014 collection!
