LOTD: MAC x Prabal Gurung Collection

Hi hi!!

Today I have an exciting collection to show you - I will be previewing a few pieces from the upcoming MAC Prabal Gurung collection.

This will be available sometime in DECEMBER 2014 globally. This is part of MAC's holiday collection - with very luxe and quite heavy packaging, so expect prices to be higher than the usual MAC collection products.

The modern glamour and immaculate style of fashion designer Prabal Gurung comes to M•A•C in a collaboration featuring ultra-luxurious, custom gold packaging.

The 14-piece collection, two years in the making, was inspired by memories of the designer's mother's beauty compacts, as well as taking style cues from Sylvie Fleury, Damien Hirst and Nick Knight.

Gurung's memories of his mother's own vanity table have clearly informed the aesthetics, with the packaging moving away from MAC's classic curved black towards squared-off, golden compacts and chunky lipstick applicators. Juliana Schurig fronts the campaign, photographed by Daniel Jackson and with make-up by Val Garland and the products themselves are warm-toned and rich in hue - a bronzer powder, a cream colour base, a buffing brush, three eyeshadow duos, three lipsticks, three glosses, a kohl pencil and a liquid liner. And all in time for Christmas.

The packaging is just drop dead stunning, it's all gold, all bling, and very opulent (except for the lipstick, which feels a tad more plasticky compared to the eyeshadow and bronzer compacts). This is definitely a collection worth every collector's stash.

An eyeshadow duo - name of the product will be updated soon - it contains a pale champagne shade and a mid-brown shade. Both complimentary and very very wearable.

A true red lippy - this has a satin matte finish. Very creamy and intense. I LOVE IT>

Overall swatches:

I used everything except for the eyeliner in this look - fyi it's the famous or rather infamous MAC liner in Feline - you either hate it or love it. I have this in my collection but I find it to be a smudgy mess on me. So I used my own black liner instead.

The eyeshadow duo is very wearable - it could have been more pigmented or softer, but other than that, it is a easy wearable duo.

The lipstick is really pretty. If you love reds, you would love this.

The bronzer is another top pick - so finely milled, and gives me enough warmth.

So my two top picks from everything featured would be the bronzer and the red lipstick.

I wore this look to the F1 last Sunday. Lots of people watching, boozing and general soaking of the party vibe with John Legend and J.Lo!!! Hope you enjoy the pictures!
