Justice for #BETHBRODIE

Food can kill my child.
As a parent of a child with multiple food allergies my goal is to keep my son alive, keep him safe from foods and safe from anaphylaxis. I spend many nights worrying about how I can raise him to live a normal life when something as simple as a slice of pizza or a sip of milk can kill him and have already had severe reactions. I know many of you can relate to the anxiety of parenting a child who has such a high risk of death, every single day. Which is why I am asking you for help.

When I was in high school my child-hood friend, Beth Brodie, was murdered by a fellow classmate. I cannot express in words how her death changed us all. It was a very difficult time, one that I wished never to have to experience again. It has been over twenty years since her death and like they say "time heals all wounds". However, our wounds have been reopened and we have all been forced to experience this hell all over again. In 1992 her killer received life without the chance of parole and now, because of law changes, he has the ability to receive parole and walk away...something we never thought would happen.

Although Beth Brodie did not have food allergies (that I know of), her friends and family did experience what all of us food allergy moms attempt to avoid every day...death of a child. Her family was not able to watch her graduate, go to her wedding, or hold her babies. They experienced the unimaginable and I'm asking for your help. We need to show the courts that her killer should not receive parole. They need to know that we have not forgotten and that we have support from others.
