BIRKENSTOCKS

I wore Birkenstocks my freshman year in high school—with socks. Actually, they weren’t real Birkenstocks, they were knock-offs, because there was no way I was going to spend $80 of my hard-earned babysitting money on a pair of sandals at the age of fourteen. I wore them with pride and loved them. Soon, they were no longer “in” and I got rid of them. Done. Birkenstocks over, forever. Fast forward twenty years, (you know you’re feeling old when you can say that), and here they are, cool again? I was really confused when I saw that they were back. I said out loud “I refuse to wear them. Uh-uh. No way! Not happening.” Well, I am a sucker. I bought a pair two weeks ago. And, another pair two nights ago.

A major sucker. And, my husband hates them.

What do you think? Yay or nay?

P.S. I promise not to wear them with socks.
