Thanksgiving Week Favorites

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and were left with full stomachs and thankful spirits. My Thanksgiving did not go as planned but such is life when you can't control the arrival of the stomach bug. Nonetheless, I am looking forward to leftovers (you know they taste great!) and our rescheduled party with our friends and their families.
Today I wanted to share with you the posts that I loved this week. As always, on Fridays I link up with Meagan from All the Joys to share the posts that inspired us.
DIY Christmas Tassel Garland by Bourbon, Lipstick, and Stilettos. I love tassel garlands and have one in my dining room and I just ordered one off of Etsy for my daughter for Christmas. Had I known they were this simple I would have made them myself. No worries though...I see plenty of tassel garlands in my future...the colors to reflect the seasons and holidays. Thanks Lindsay!
An Open Letter to a Blog Friend by Heavens to Betsy. Back when I started blogging I had no clue the friendships I would make and the encouragement I would find along the way. Betsy's letter sums it up perfectly.
Keeping Positive Body Image During the Season of Plenty by Sew My Soul. I love all of the tips that Kaitlin shares with us for this holiday season. The holidays and food are so tightly wound together and more often than not, our self images are tied to how we look or perceive ourselves. We can enjoy the holidays and be a lenient with ourselves. There is no need to be harsh with ourselves.
Are You Making this Mistake in Your Conversations? by The Nectar Collective. Melyssa poses the thought that listening and hearing are so different from each other. This post made me stop and think about what I do in my conversations. I love her tips on how to become a great listener and a better conversationalist.
Self Love Setbacks: How to Cope with an Unflattering Photo by Anastasia Amour. I will be the first to admit it. I hate having my picture taken and have very few photos of myself consequently. Each and every photo I have is scrutinized for the flaws and any possible positive parts are overlooked and overshadowed by the negatives. This post was a great reminder for me to let all of that go and to consider the fact that a photo is one snapshot in time and not worthy of lowering my self esteem.
