sewing: easy infinity scarves for spring

this is a sponsored post.

spring is coming (i’m fairly certain), and what’s better than easy infinity scarves to brighten up your day and keep your neck a little bit warm until the weather cooperates?

i had the opportunity to look through some the Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Store spring craft trends, and i was inspired particularly by the blues of all things nautical. i took Brenna along with me to shop for this post, and she was quite taken by a blue floral fabric, and hey! it turns out that floral was another one of the spring trends, so we went with it! you can get your spring crafting on with this $5 off $25 or more purchase coupon and this spring crafting inspiration.

i made Brenna’s floral infinity scarf using my double gauze infinity scarf tutorial. this floral fabric is a lightweight cotton that also measures 44″ wide, so there were no edits to the process. it made a lovely, light-weight scarf that’s a great size for either kids or adults. as you might have guessed, she’s a fan.

Kahlin’s scarf is made with a jersey knit that sparkles!! because when you’re nine, easy infinity scarves aren’t enough. you want sparkle, and who can disagree? for this scarf, i used my jersey infinity scarf tutorial, making the scarf slightly narrower by cutting the fabric to 20″ wide before sewing, rather than 24″. the jersey infinity scarves are a great option if you like a longer scarf, or just want something comfy and casual.

both girls happened to be wearing shirts also made with fabric from Jo-Ann (not planned, can you believe it?) in these pics… Brenna is wearing a sweater knit Bimaa and Kahlin’s shirt is one of the many long-sleeve tumble tees i made last fall. both have been wardrobe staples this winter for sure.

oh, these girlies :) so happy to be outside!!

happy stitching!
