V-Stitch Scarf!

Today I am sharing with you the pattern to this v-stich infinity scarf! There are so many different ways you can make this, but I love extra long infinity scarves that you can loop around a couple of times. This one is really simple, and works up pretty fast, and is super easy to customize however you want it!

1. To begin, make a chain that is a multiple of 3, plus 2.

2. Skip the first 3 chains (counts as first double crochet), and double crochet in 4th chain from hook.

3. Skip 2 chain stitches. Double crochet, ch1, double crochet in next ch stitch.

4. Skip 2 chain stitches. Double crochet, ch1, double crochet in next stitch

5. Continue steps 3 and 4 until you get to the final 4 chain stitches.

Skip 2 chains, and work one double crochet in each of the last two chain stitches.

6. Ch 3 (counts as first double crochet of the next row) and turn

7. Double crochet in the second double crochet of previous round. I marked it with a star in the previous picture. Now you will be working out of the ch1 spaces from the previous round. In the first ch1 space, work double crochet, ch1, double crochet.

8. Continue working a double crochet, ch1, double crochet in the remaining ch1 spaces from the previous round.

9. When you reach the end, you will have a double crochet, and the beginning chain3 front the previous row and you will work a double crochet in each.

So each row will begin with two double crochets and end with two double crochets. Keep repeating steps 6-9 until it is as long as you like!

I made mine with a 7 mm hooks from KnitPicks. I like the stitches looser and using a bigger hook made it go a little faster.

The first one I made was solid gray and made from Caron Simply Soft and I used about two and a half skeins.. I loved the way it turned out! It is long enough to wrap around twice and is actually really warm.

The navy, cream and gray color block scarf was made using Hobby Lobby’s Soft Secret yarn. I really liked the colors of the yarn, but I don’t know if I would use it again for this scarf. I feel like it stretches a little more than I would like, and it splits a lot while I worked.

There are so many different color combinations you can use. I started making a striped one, but haven’t finished it yet. Changing colors took more time than I realized and I got a little burnt out. But, I think it is really pretty, and plan on finishing it soon!
