Giant Crochet Leaves Pattern

Autumn is here! Fall is without a doubt my favourite season - the crunchy leaves, getting cosy in fluffy slippers and eating hot lentil soups in enamel cups. I have also been tackling the wonderful task of creating another window display for the fabulously scottish, Honest Thistle!

Vicki and I decided it would be a really beautiful idea to create a leaves installation to welcome the chilly weather. Each leaf will have a brown chain for hanging in the window and in a variety of atumnal colours - red, green, mustard, orange, purple and browns. For those balls that I didn't have two of, I thought it would be lovely to mix some shades, like burgandy and purple. Here's how I made each and enjoy your weekend! xx :

Materials:

DMC Natura 'Just Cotton' in N16 Tournesol (mustard), N76 Bamboo (apple green), N23 Passion (red), N47 Safran (orange), N41 Siena (brown), N45 Orquidea (lavender), N34 Bourgogne (plum). 2 x balls per leaf
5mm Crochet Hook
Darning Needle
Scissors
Spray Starch
Iron and Ironing Mesh

Crochet Terms Used:

Ch - Chain
Dc - Double Crochet
Sl St - Slip Stitch
St/sts - Stitch/Stitches
Dc2tog - Double Crochet 2 Together. This means beginning a double crochet in the stitch, as normal, and instead of pulling the loop through, continue to work a double crochet into the next stitch. Then finish the stitch by wrapping yarn over and pulling threw the 3 loops on the hook at the one time.
