Headboard 101: Wooden styles

Continuing in my headboard series, today we’re taking a look at wooden headboards. Wooden headboards might not be plush and comfy but they can add a lovely textured warmth. You definitely need to make sure you have ample pillows and cushions to soften the look though! Traditionally wooden headboards add a rustic or shabby chic element to your bedroom but lately I’ve been seeing some amazing contemporary styles, as seen in the following two images.

I’ve been sharing loads of headboard examples with you… which are your favourites? Plain or patterned upholstery, deep buttoned, shaped styles or wooden?

The following two examples aren’t traditional fixed headboards but they add such character and create a lovely look.
