HLM Anna’s GF Pretzel Crusted Tilapia

I have one of the most creative friends, Anna! She runs the blog Healthy Living Maintenance! I saw her recipe for gluten free honey mustard pretzel crusted tilapia and HAD to share! How easy and delicious does this look? I’d love to try this out with chicken.

Honey-Mustard Pretzel Crusted Tilapia.

Boy, thats a mouth full isn’t it?! “Honey-mustard-pretzel-crusted-tilapia” (now say that five times fast)

A few nights ago I spotted my tilapia, then saw my gf pretzels in the cabinet. Pretzel crusted tilapia – sounds good, right? Well, I decided to kick it up a notch and add a honey mustard spin on it.

Ingredients:

1 Cup Gf Pretzels (crushed/ground)
2 Tbsp Honey
2 Tbsp Yellow Mustard
6 Tbsp Egg Substitute (= 2 eggs)
Tilapia Fillets (thawed)
*Note: you can use normal eggs, and honey mustard. I just didn’t have any honey mustard so I made my own

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375, line baking sheet with foil and coat with cooking spray; set aside
Mix together egg substitute, mustard and honey

Crush up your pretzels by grinding them up in food processor, or putting in a bag and running a rolling pin over the top

Drop your thawed tilapia fillets into the honey mustard/egg wash, coat completely – then transfer onto the crushed pretzel coating – lastly, transfer onto prepped baking sheet

Cook for ~20 minutes; or until fish flakes easily and is cooked through
Last step – enjoy!
This was a super simple meal to prep and put together. And the best part… it was DELICIOUS.

I made an extra side of the honey mustard sauce and drizzled it over the top of our fillets right before we ate them. The tangy-ness from the mustard, paired with the depth of sweetness from the honey and the salty crunch of the pretzel; absolutely magnificent.
