DIY Idea: Emoji Pumpkins

Happy almost-Halloween! One of my favorite parts of this season is carving pumpkins, but since I haven’t had a lot of spare time this year I decided to go the painting route instead. To keep it simple and also kind of (I think) fun, I decided to paint little emoji faces on my pumpkins!

I’m sure I’m not the first person to think of this idea. But I thought I’d show off what I came up with anyway. To make these, I just used regular acrylic paints. I used yellow to go over the entire pumpkin, then black and red (came out more pinkish) for the facial features. I just free-handed these, but if you have any stencils that could make it easier. Alternatively, you could consider using painter’s tape to create the outlines of each facial feature.

These were so simple and fun! I wish I had more time to make more of them, since there are so many great emojis to choose from. Which emoji would you like to make into a pumpkin?
