Thrifty Gift Ideas: Framed Print (£1.50)

Thrifty Gift Idea

Would you believe I picked up these white frames in Poundland? They are pretty much identical to frames I saw in a mid-range home ware shop for £15-17. Normally I’d pick up something like this, in a dodgy colour, from a charity shop and then spend extra to spray paint it a decent colour with the final frame costing £3-5 depending on how much spray paint I have sitting around already but these already fresh and white frames are perfect for this project.

Once out of the plastic wrapping one of these frames, containing a meaningful print or photograph, could make a really lovely birthday or Christmas gift.

Due to the size of the frames, a print needn’t set you back a fortune either – you can opt for a postcard or greeting card size and save money there too! I picked up some cards from Tiger which are 2 for £1 and come in a dazzling array of designs and colours. You can hunt down some great greetings cards in supermarkets, charity shops or something a bit special from Etsy. Opting for an old postcard is a must for a vintage lover and you can pick up vintage postcards here on eBay for next to nothing.
You could even opt for a free printable and only pay for the paper/card and print ink – with modern printers it should cost around 30p per print. Check out my Free Printables Pinterest Board.

My final fun and quirky gift came in at just £1.50 and I’m sure my intended recipient will adore it!

Will you be following this route for a cheap, meaningful and easy Christmas gift this year?
