The Show Must Go On

In my last post, I mentioned that the older I get, the fewer friends I have. Let me explain.

As we grow up, the more people we meet, interact with, and build relationships with, the more people we’re also bound to drift apart from. Although there are some people we have grown to love, there are times we have to accept the reality that sometimes, these people should be loved from a distance.

I once heard the phrase, “Life is a theater so invite your audiences carefully. Not everyone is holy enough and healthy enough to have a front row seat in our lives.”. You see, not everyone we love can reciprocate the amount of love that we are willing to provide. Some fall short while others find it impossible to offer any at all.

As I said before, letting go will always be harder than holding on, but sometimes you need to stop holding on so you can start moving on. Although letting go is a difficult task to a lot of us, it doesn’t necessarily mean to completely forget. Instead, it just simply means to let things fall into place and keep moving forward. For us to continue in our destination, we need to release all the excess baggage we have during our journey and learn to travel light.

In order for the show to go on, we need to realize who should sit in the front row and who should be moved to the balcony of our lives. As the saying goes, you can’t change the people around you, but you can always change the people you are around. BOOM.
