In Neutral Territory

I think I’m going through a phase when it comes to my makeup selections of late. I’ve been keeping everything very monochromatic and neutral, from my eye makeup to my lip colour.

Typically, I keep my eyes neutral and select a pop of colour for my lips. But there’s something to be said about understated makeup — it’s almost a no-makeup makeup really. That seems to be what I have been gravitating towards the last week or so.

On the eyes, I’ve keep it simple with a wash of a bronze or taupe shade and mascara. Lipstick choices have been ultra neutral in the past week. This includes Clinique Chubby Stick in Bountiful Blush (previously swatched and reviewed here); shu uemura lipstick in Dream Orange (bottom right, and previously reviewed here); and finally Bobbi Brown’s Brownie Pink lipstick, a “my lips but better” colour that I’m currently testing out.

Looking at these pictures, I can see that I do look a little washed out and if I could do a re-do I would add more blush and define my eyes ever so slightly with a liner.

There’s always tomorrow, right?
