How to create a small workplace in a tiny home

Not all of us have the luxury of owning an apartment big enough to create a separate office. But – being an entrepreneur or blogger – it’s nice to have a small workspace to make your space of productivity. So here’s a few tips on how to create a small workplace in an even smaller apartment. Let’s do this!

Divide your workplace from your living space
Put something, like a closet, in between your workspace and your living space. It helps when your work life is separated from your private life, even if it’s just by a closet ;).

Try to find a suiting table
If there’s a little vacant corner in your room, find a table that fits in there. It might be a small sidetable or a desk that you can put against the wall. Use the space as efficiently as possible. There doesn’t have to be much space, as long as there’s a desk (in a good height to prevent dealing with RSI!).

Make sure to have everything at hand
Whether you add a closet or a few shelves to your work space, make sure that you have everything you need at hand. This can go from folders with important papers to notebooks to your laptop and chargers. Put everything on the shelves, in the closet behind you or on your desk (in a little container, a smart tip by interior blogger Elisah).

If you really don’t have the space to add a desk, you can also of course work from your dining table. Just make sure to clean your desk (a.k.a. put everything in a box to the left) at the end of the working day. This way you’ll keep things in place.

Does your job require to work from home often?
