My Bag in Love Patchwork and Quilting

I am pretty picky about my magazines; I like to see projects in similar fabrics that I would use myself, and I like to see interesting and unique sewing or quilting patterns. The pattern don’t necessarily have to be challenging, but I’d like to see at least more than one in an issue that I could see myself making. One of my favorite magazines is Love Patchwork and Quilting; it’s a great magazine from the UK. I started subscribing around when Issue 3 came out (and I just got Issue 9 in the mail the other day). Although you can also find them at local stores (Barnes and Noble, etc.), I wanted the convenience of getting them at home, since I was buying all the issues anyway; plus each month the magazine always comes with a free ‘present’ (cute heart pins, measuring tape, EPP papers, supplies to make a needle book, etc.).

Issue 10 is due out June 25th in the UK (and mid-July for the rest of the world), and I have a pattern in that issue; it’s actually the first magazine pattern that I made in my new Jungle Ave. fabrics. This is a beginner-friendly pattern that features half-square triangles and a lovely pleated center. There is also optional purse feet on the bottom of the bag, and make your own handles using a bit of purse hardware!

I had a lot of fun making this bag, and I have to say…can’t I just hire the staff of LPQ to photograph *all* my bags? Because my pictures never turn out nearly as great.

If you’re interested in subscribing to the magazine, Love Patchwork and Quilting has a great offer going on right now for new subscribers only!

If you live in the US you can try 3 issues for just $10 when you subscribe.
