Pharrell x Adidas Originals – FW14
Adidas Originals continua a sostenere i più grandi nomi della musica, annunciando Pharrell Williams come nuovo collaboratore di lunga durata. Dire che Pharrell sia un fenomeno della cultura pop è un eufemismo: il rapper e produttore è stato determinante nella spinta al lifestyle adidas Originals nel 2014, e il suo amore per la Stan Smith è stato fondamentale per il successo del modello da quando è stata ri-lanciato all’inizio dell’anno.
La prima collezione Pharrell x Adidas Originals si concentra proprio sulla Stan Smith. Intitolata ‘Solid Pack’, la collezione presenta tre Stan Smith monocromatiche in rosso, nero e blu. Una collezione minimal con cui, per la prima volta, Adidas sceglie di collaborare con un designer che ha già una sua azienda tessile. L’azienda utilizzerà infatti il filato Bionic Yarn creato da The Vortex Project, un’iniziativa Parley for the Oceans (creata appunto da Pharrell) per trasformare i rifiuti di plastica presenti negli oceani in filati e tessuti. Il Bionic Yarn verrà utilizzato per realizzare altri prodotti adidas Originals ideati da Pharrell.

English Adidas Originals continues to support the biggest names of music, announced Pharrell Williams as a new contributor to long-term. To say tPharrell is a pop culture phenomenon is an understatement: the rapper and producer has been instrumental in pushing the adidas Originals lifestyle in 2014, and his love for the Stan Smith has been critical to the success of the model since it was relaunched earlier this year.The first collection Pharrell x Adidas Originals focuses on Stan Smith. Entitled the ‘Solid Pack’, the collection presents three monochromatic Stan Smith in red, black and blue. A minimalist collection with, for the first time, Adidas chooses to work with a designer who already has a textile company. Adidas will use the Bionic Yarn fact yarn created by The Vortex Project, an initiative Parley for the Oceans (created by Pharrell) to transform plastic waste in the oceans in yarns and fabrics. The Bionic Yarn will be used to make other products adidas Originals designed by Pharrell.
