Breton Chic

What is it with everyone wanting to go to France, dressing like a Parisian and coveting French designers? Oh, did that sound like a criticism? Absolument pas! After all, I happen to be one of said ‘everyone’, and I like that I’m your run-of-the-mill French fangirl. Since I was a wee teen all I wanted was to be the Asian Audrey Hepburn – yes I know she has nothing to do with France, but everyone just associates her with that country, don’t they? So naturally I take any chance I get to go breton chic. Today’s outfit features, the classic breton stripe ‘Sail Away’ top from Pop Cherry (also wearable as a mini dress).

A trench coat is something every girl or French wanabe should have. Mine is something a little different from Front Row Shop – a convertible two-way mac that unbuttons into a cropped jacket. I also love that you can wear it half undone for a deconstructed look.

In other news, have you seen my girl Heather Lansdown’s breton chic outfit in her latest Canberra Op Shop Guide article for The Riot Act?
