Market Days and Cabin & Cove Leopard Mules

Having introduced these Cabin & Cove ‘Leo’ leopard mules on my blog last month, they have been on heavy rotation as the most amazing weekend (and road trip appropriate) trotters. When you just want to dress comfortably, in a sweater and jeans, I feel the easiest way to look just that little bit more put together is to inject something unexpected in your footwear. You might not think to look at them, but these leopard mules are insanely comfortable. I could walk for miles.

Despite my tendency to favour modern aesthetics of structure and utilitarianism, parts of me are decidedly old fashioned. I love antiques, my favourite books are all the classics, and I find old world values extremely charming – chivalry, etiquette (while not having any), and even gender roles. In that sense, I’m afraid I could never call myself a feminist. And as much as I live by online shopping, nothing could ever displace the local market experience for me. I faithfully patronise them for my dose of the home grown, home-baked and homemade, despite the fact that it almost always means bringing home baguettes that I never eat, flowers that I never water and bric-a-brac that I never use. Can you relate?
