A Wedding Moodboard | Classic and Boho

Although I had a traditional Indian wedding, there is no denying the charm of being dressed in flowing white with flowers everywhere and a beautiful setting for your big day. So, when Lover.ly approached me to create a style board for some of their dresses and suggest the makeup to go with it, I jumped at the opportunity! This should help anyone looking for an inspiration for an upcoming wedding, or even otherwise!

When I was planning my own wedding, there were a few things I was certain about.
A) My clothes and makeup should be timeless and classic
B) I should look like a better version of myself and not someone else
C) A vintage vibe for my hair
D) I would not spend an insane amount money on designer clothes
E) Invest in timeless beautiful jewelry instead.
Now, I believe everyone has a different approach, but one thing which I cannot emphasize enough is to go classic with you makeup and look. The pictures from the day will last your lifetime and no-one wants to look back at their photos and cringe at that bold eye shadow or that super nude lipstick, trust me!

Being a die-hard Classic at heart, creating a style for a classic wedding gown is what comes naturally to me. A classic silk ball gown dress was my first choice and this dress is as classic as it can get!

The Makeup : A flawless base with a medium coverage foundation which lets skin show through. Pretty rosy cheeks paired with either a rosy pink, or classic red lip and a perfectly done cat-eye flick. Give your features a lift with a contouring powder but skip any obvious bronzing. Soft nude pink nails and hair up in a soft bun completes this effortless look!

Bohemian to me is romantic, earthy and oh so pretty. I absolutely love the idea of a beach wedding or one in the middle of the forest in autumn! Embracing the au naturel for a BIG day is a BIG decision!

When I think of Boho I think of a Crochet dress with flowing sleeves, a flowery tiara and a wedding out in the open. As a Boho bride, you do not want to be made up at all! No piling up makeup and going over-board with eye shadows, nothing too striking. Boho I feel is all about embracing your natural beauty and just enhancing it enough for a special day.

The Makeup : Dewy skin, a sun kissed look, bold brows, neutral eyes and berry stained lips does it for me! Don’t go too dark with the bronzing but definitely get the appropriate tanned/sun-kissed effect. The brows are the highlight, very bold and strong but not too perfect at the same time. No sharp edges any where on the face. The lipstick can be worn as a stain, opt for something creamy and pigmented to stay on the lips for long. Keep the eyes softly defined with neutral colors that do not clash with the dress or theme in any way.

This look is incomplete without a pretty tiara with wild flowers, while soft curls or wavy hair is just the perfect accessory to this beautiful, earthy and gorgeous look.

Let me know what you think!
