Behind the scenes | indieLoveBooks

A few behind the scenes snaps of some indieLoveBooks i've been making lately - this one is a a slightly different spin on the usual!

As many of you may know, I create personalised wedding guestbooks over at indieLovebooks.com. I love sharing these on the blog because there are always such beautiful stories behind each one. Recently, I've created an indieLovebook that has deviated slightly from the 'normal' wedding guestbook - and I thought I would share it with you today!

A little while ago, Shelly approached me about creating a type of "memory-book" to give to her grandparents as they celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary! (60!!). They have been a huge part of her life and she wanted to give them something special for their wedding anniversary! In the book, she wanted to include photographs and memories from throughout their lives together as well as messages from family and friends around the world.

Shelly wanted the book to have a bright, fun feel and for the pages to have pops of colour in amidst the messages, photos and quotes that she had chosen. We sorted all the photographs which were a collection of scanned "yesteryear" photos and modern digital photos. As you can image with 60 years of memories plus photos from everyone around the world - there were plenty to choose from! Once we had sorted the selection of photos and chosen which photos best represented each person - I set about laying out the book to include the message from the relative/friend/family alongside their selection of photographs:

On some pages we included a quote or saying about friendship, family or love. Shelly also asked for the text size to be bumped up so that her grandparents could easily read it!

Within the book, we also included a few photo-montage pages, some of which were pages dedicated to "Africa", "Golf days" and "Fishing Trips". We also included a few photo spread pages with all the sons, grandchildren and friends of yesteryear, with quotes and sayings that Shelly wanted to include.

The book in total was close to 100 pages long and included messages from old friends, new friends, sons, sisters, daughter-in-laws, aunts, uncles, grandchildren and cousins!

Since Shelly was travelling back to Zimbabwe to attend a 60 Wedding Celebration with her grandparents, she also wanted to leave a few pages in the book open for other people at the party to write their messages and memories in -

This was such a fun project to work on - I love experimenting with new layouts and creative ideas! And from what I hear from Shelly - her grandparents loved it!

If you are interested in a personalised wedding guestbook - take a peek over at indieLovebooks.com for the packages on offer or if you are looking for a more bespoke book, as the one above - pop me an email on [email protected] to request a quote.
