Cream & Sugar

Even when I’m on the other side of the world, when I am having coffee, I always think about the same person.

And that is the woman I had my very first cup of coffee with: my Meme. Meme is my mother’s Mom who, to this day, has her girlfriends over for a coffee & a chat. I used to always beg to be a part of the “grown up coffee time” with Meme because I loved the idea of not having to play make believe with my dolls. Plus, she has the cutest pink china sets of coffee cups and saucers that were very appealing to me {still are!}. I will never forget the first time I was over at her house and instead of telling me to go play in the other room for an hour, she invited me for coffee. It was the first time I felt like a true “grown up” {I think I was 8 years old).

She made my coffee with a little bit of cream and sugar and I still drink it the same way today.
