Seek & Hide

It was one of those late nights that turned into an early morning.

Last week my blogger gal pals & I trekked over to Aspen with UGG Australia. On night two, after stuffing our faces with a hearty dinner, we changed into our “fat pants” and shared a bottle of wine by the fire. The evening was young but after lengthy conversations about haunted hotels, favorite travel spots and a quick dip in the hot tub, we found ourselves gearing up to play a sneaky game of Seek & Hide. Seek & Hide is where you pick 1 person to hide while the rest of the group counts to 100. As the other members of the group look to find the 1 person who has hidden, once they have found him/her, they must hide with them. The last person looking for the entire group {who is all hiding at this point} is inevitably the loser.

I absolutely love games and eagerly volunteered to be the first one to hide. I nervously raced down to the basement where I found a secret doorway to a room that was empty. I dove back into the bottom cellar under the stairs. I could hear the pitter-patter of slippers running up and down and through the hallways. As the girls yelled out teasing remarks about giving up, or screams as they opened up doors, I let out a slight giggle. I was instantly taken back to my early childhood years where my family and I would play hide & seek. My father would turn out all of the electricity in the house and we would play this game for hours. After several rounds of the game in Aspen, a few of the crew members drifted off to bed while a few of us stayed up chatting by the fire. It’s always a good sign when you start to notice the sun coming up and you are still fighting to stay awake because you want that picturesque moment in time to last forever.
