New Oxblood Boots / Dr. Marten Look-alikes

Hey everyone! Today is just a quick little post. I wanted to show with you my new boots! I found these oxblood colored Dr. Marten look-alikes at Buffalo Exchange the other day for $30. I don’t think I could even begin to tell you how excited I was! I had been wanting some boots like this for years now but wasn’t satisfied with what I found. Some boots (especially Dr. Martens) were pretty damn close but I never found the right color. I think one thing I have learned over the years with clothes is to never give in. If you wait long enough and look around before you commit you can always get an amazing bargain on stuff you love and most likely it will have more personality. Like these that get lighter around the toe giving it a subtle ombre effect.

The best thing about the color on this boot is that it goes with everything! This pop of color gives a certain touch of authority, don’t you think? Me and my friend had been shooting a family portrait for our new photography business and I wore this outfit the day of the job. I’m kind of dressed in a tomboyish way here and I love how the look plays off my completely messy tossled “sex” hair (if that’s what you want to call this mess on my head). I had my hair in a really absurd messy bun moments before my photos got snapped. I decided to let my hair loose to counteract the boyish tendencies going on for the photos. The hair was extra messy but I kind of like it. Sometimes messy is my favorite.
