Happy Friday! We had a busy week and are headed into an equally jam-packed weekend, so let’s jump right into the picks. And… go!
First, some proof that I do occasionally like a room with dark walls. I’m crazy jealous of those thick baseboards and door casings, and it looks like those are 10-foot ceilings, too, but I can’t really steal those for our split-level. This is one I just have to admire from afar.
We have a wedding to go to later this summer and I need to figure out how to get all of my hair up without doing a top knot. It will be too gross outside to rock my signature Hair Blanket, which hits me mid-back now, so I officially need to teach myself a ladylike updo. Chignons aren’t super tricky, right? I need whatever the introductory style is.
We’re both tall so we don’t REALLY need a step stool too often, but I think this is a cute project anyway: get an IKEA stool and jazz it up with paint and wrapping paper. Filing this one away for when we have a tiny human underfoot.
Finally, avocado bruschetta on crostinis? Please and thank you. I’m making these the next time I have a friend over for wine night.
Any big plans this weekend? We’re having our annual meeting of the minds and seeing both sides of our family at once. (At our house! I need to de-clutter!) We’re celebrating my dad’s birthday, too, and going to a speakeasy-themed dinner theater, which will be awesome and I’ll obviously tell you all about it. Whatever you’re doing, I hope you have fun! I’ll be back on Monday with a DIY project.
