New Craft Show Displays!

One bummer thing about switching from one product (jewelry) to another (home decor) is totally re-doing my craft show display. As in, I kept almost nothing. The tables I’ll have to drag around are the same, as are my cash box and credit card reader, but that’s it. Everything else had to be changed. I was actually pretty excited about it because while I liked how my jewelry display LOOKED, it was such a pain to deal with all of the individual pieces and fragile everything. Vintage plates made a fun background in theory, but UGH did I get tired of delicately hauling them around.

Anyway, this time around I knew I wanted a setup that would be more convenient to carry and 100% less breakable. No glass.

In fact, I stumbled upon a few things in my office that would work. I was up there one day when I noticed the baskets I use to hold wrapping paper and gift bags:

Perfect for the throw pillows and napkin sets! Boom! The brown wasn’t too exciting, so I jazzed them up with some pretty oops paint I found at Lowes about a year ago. (Tragically, there wasn’t a color code on it so I have no idea what it is.)

Also in the office: I had a crate hangin’ around that held my vinyl records. They’ll will be okay leaning against something else for a day, so I decided to take the crate, plus a matching buddy I got at JoAnn, for some table height. They got the same blue treatment as the baskets.

Since I was on a roll, I wandered through some other rooms. Remember this tray I use to wrangle our remotes?

It’s a good size for the glitter clothespins:

I ended up buying some other stuff–like smaller brown baskets, a fresh white table cloth, and a chalkboard plaque–but I’m stoked that I found a handful of things in the house. The blue paint also goes with that one bit of decorating I’ve done in the office, so it’s a win-win.

BEST OF ALL:

Like Russian nesting dolls, except with more carrying space! This obviously isn’t everything, but wouldn’t that be awesome? “Hello, I’m coming to a craft show with these two small boxes,” said no one ever.

My first show of the season is Saturday (aaaah!), so I’ll be sure to come back with a look at the whole setup. If you’re a seller, have you been fiddling with your display for holiday shows? Do you ever use stuff you have around the house? Who else loves finding cute oops paint?
