candlelight diamond

This Art Deco engagement ring from the 1920′s features an uncommon cushion cut diamond.

Most cushion cut diamonds can only be found in antique jewelry.

They were common in the late 19th and early 20th centuries..

They are known as candlelight diamonds, a reference to the bygone time they are from,

prior to electric light when diamonds sparkled in light provided by candles.

They are not as bright as newer cuts but no other are more romantic..
