Peonies and water lilies

Debbie and I were excited to get on road Friday evening to the St. George Peninsula event of the season, the first opening at Mars Hall Gallery. But wait! The light was just right for flower portraits. My friend’s garden has some wonderful and unusual flower specimens I just couldn’t pass up.

Her lily pond is perfect this year. Debbie remarked, “I almost filled in the pond, it’s a lot of care.” I am so glad she did not. I will remember it as the highlight of my summer flower viewing.

It is a small pond right near the house. I almost fell in trying to get as close as possible.

And then I spotted the peonies!

More on Mars Hall Gallery in Port Clyde to come.
