Terra Optima, South Main Street, Rockland
It has been a little over a year since Cheryl Denz opened Terra Optima Farm Market. Cheryl has been a farmer all her life. This retail store directly connects farm to table.
Cheryl thoroughly enjoys feeding Rockland in a very literal sense. “Rockland is wonderful! I love being right here in town. It is a vibrant, caring community. And the food scene here is fabulous!” states Cheryl.
Farm fresh eggs
Terra Optima farm has been raising livestock for 20 years. Cheryl started with one steer and one pig. The farm in Appleton produces pasture raised pork, grass fed beef, chicken and eggs, all available at the Rockland store.
Cacciatore
They attract a loyal lunch crowd with their pulled pork sandwiches and daily offerings. (Gotta try the pulled pork with peach BBQ sauce.) Baby back ribs are sometimes available also…..yummm!!!
Corner Store
But truly, they have everything you need for dinner. So whether you are on your way home from the construction site and need to pick up steak and potatoes or you are having a dinner party for 20, they have got you covered. Now that’s the corner store I’d want for sure!
Terra Optima works with 26 local farms and producers to give you an alternative option to the farmers market, especially in winter. This year they are also working with Rockland Main Street, Inc. in directing $4200 in goods to employees of Main Street businesses. Healthy Maine Streets directs the donated funds.

Support your local corner store this winter by stopping in at Terra Optima Farm Market, 218 South Main Street, Rockland, just down a bit from Harbor Park. Best thing is – there is plenty of parking right outside the store, so it will just take a minute to pick up dinner after a long day at work.
