We celebrated Thanksgiving with Kevin's parents and we had a relaxing, totally laid-back day which was great! Last Thanksgiving Harper had just started solids so she didn't eat any turkey but this year she tried a couple of pieces. She's definitely becoming much more of a picky eater. I totally thought she would go bananas over stuffing and mashed potatoes, but no dice.

Harper's grammy and grampy got her a set of blocks and she loves them…and so do we. I swear they bring out my inner child. Kevin and I have already had contests for "who can build the most majestic tower." Harper's like "step away from my blocks, peeps."
Elmo/baby dance party
She thought it was hilarious every time she pulled the blocks apart--- we would all make a funny sound when she did it and she laughed her little cheeks off!
On Friday I had to work (thankfully we were able to leave early!) and Kevin stopped by with Harper right before lunch. It was the first time either of them had been to my office building. Harper loved spinning Kevin in one of the office chairs. It was nice to have a (nearly) full day with my family!

Saturday morning we headed over to have a play date with my friend Leslie and her daughter Margot. The girls had fun with books and toys and playing outside. Harper even kindly offered to sweep the porch!

Then, came the biggest project of the weekend which was cleaning out my storage closet and guest bedroom. Y'all, it was a bad scene. Our storage closet was packed to the brim (you could barely get inside) and our guest room had become a glorified baby stuff storage closet itself. We were forced to address it because the Christmas decorations had to come out. Anyway, this picture does not even remotely represent just how bad it was…
I ended up completing this cleaning and organizing project on Sunday. I have five full garbage bags of adult clothing, baby clothing, new bed sheets and some other home items heading to Goodwill. I also stored all of Harper's baby clothes and packed away a lot of baby toys and other baby stuff like activity mats and bouncers that we won't need until we have another. A lot went in the trash too. I know this picture doesn't look like progress, but you can't see the room on the floor that wasn't there before and you can actually freely walk around in the closet now!
So I never got around to decorating the tree because it took so long for us to deal with the guest room situation…but Kevin did put the tree up and Harper placed the first ornament on it.
I bought her some Christmas-themed stickers from the dollar bin at Target recently so I figured since we couldn't decorate our real tree yet, we could have some fun decorating a tree on paper!
We made a second one because it was fun to use the stickers :)
Other than the insane closet-cleaning and organizing, Sunday was laid back. We went to the park and just did stuff around the house.

Though I didn't get a lot of holiday decorating done---I did put up my garland. Last year, I had it on our TV console but that was not going to fly this year with a very mobile and curious toddler. So to the window it went! And if you're wondering why I have a stack of frames on my dining table, it's because Leslie (she's seriously a decorating pro) is going to help me create the gallery wall that I've wanted to add for years, but I never knew where to start.
Oh and adorable moment of the weekend--- Harper feeding goldfish to Lulu! Wishing you all a great week!
