Crafty Cardmakers #125 - It's Only Words - Christmas Noel

Hello Everyone!

I apologize for being MIA for the last week. It's been pretty busy in my craft room as I prepared for my full blogging schedule this week. I promise to catch up with everyone over the next few days. So now, lets get on with the show.

It's time for another challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers! Thank you to everyone who played with us last time for our 'Triple B' challenge, I enjoyed looking at all the wonderful cards you made!

Lin, our wonderful hostess has chosen the following theme for us CHALLENGE #125 - IT'S ONLY WORDS. So she would like to see your cards or projects that have a sentiment as the main focus. This one is easy ladies, I know how much you love to stamp your sentiments! Here is my make.

For the background I mixed together some grey and brown paint and put down an uber thick layer on white paper. I mean I just glopped it on, so there would be nice deep brush impressions in the paint. Then I stamped a couple of swirls on the page and ran it through my Cuttlebug with a poinsettia embossing folder.
Next I took a really coarse sanding block and swiped it back and forth in different directions to take off some of the paint. I rubbed some Krylon Gold Leafing on the top for a metallic finish.
MRS DUCK...PLEASE TAKE THIS KRYLON PEN AWAY FROM ME...I CAN'T STOP ON MY OWN!!

I cut the base shape from Spellbinders Labels 33 and painted it with a thick layer of white paint, again, making sure there were lots of visible brush strokes.I added some Picket Fence Crackle paint and coloured it with Tim Holtz distress inks Bundled Sage, Gathered Twigs and Pumice Stone. Then I dabbed some Picket Fence paint really lightly and added more distress ink. Some Krylon gold leafing for the metallic edges.

The foliage was cut from Tim Holtz Festive Greenery and coloured with Crushed Olive and Gathered Twigs. I added some Martha Stewart coarse glitter to the leaves (which was absolutely impossible to photograph!).
The poinsettia was cut from Tim Holtz Tattered Poinsettia. I layered white paint and UTEE a couple of times, then swiped some Tim Holtz distress ink Black Soot over the petals and heated it up so it melted into the top layer.

I am entering my Christmas Noel card into the following wonderful challenges:
- C.R.A.F.T. Challenge - #280 - Christmas - Deep Ocean Challenge Blog - #88 - Christmas In October - We Do Doobadoo - Challenge #16 - Christmas
- Completely Christmas - Challenge #33 - Anything Goes With a Twist - Add a Poinsettia - Creative Card Crew - Challenge #72 - Black Card Stock

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. I read and appreciate every single one! If you have any questions, please let me know.
