New Hope For A Very Bare Ficus (On Account Of Unconditional Love?)

Back in October, as you can see in the photo above, my Green Island Ficus was not a happy camper, not in the least bit. This ficus, who even has a name on account of my guessing that being a ficus she might give us a few problems, is supposed to be a "hardy" ficus which is why I purchased it, not to mention that it was so very lovely. But those dropping leaves, sigh. Nonetheless we continued to care for and talk to "cookie" and after this leaf dropping incident I even put her outdoors for the winter, which included some major snow. I figured if she wasn't happy in a bright indoor spot, a little winter weather wouldn't hurt either!

Fast forward to mid-summer, and "cookie" has not only gorgeous and full green growth at the end of her branches, but in the middle of the plant, where I thought nothing would grow, tiny new branches are sprouting all over the place! I wonder if it is the low dose of fertilizer that she received twice, or that she just loves her little spot outdoors. We may never know! Unless of course I have to move her and she gets fussy again, hopefully not. We love her any which way, but especially with lots of leaves.
