[Halloween] Black Cat watermarble nails

Happy Sunday!

Halloween is less than a week away. Do you already have plans for that day? It is not a big thing over here, so I won't be attending a party or such. Still I like to get a bit spooky on my nails to get me in the Trick or Treat mood. If you are still looking for Halloween nail art inspiration, here is a little watermarble and black cat design for you.

For the water marble I used China Glaze - Solar Power, Orange Marmelade and Gothic Lolita. Because watermarbling is always a big mess, I tried something different this time. I built up my bull's eye as usual, alternating two drops of Solar Power and one drop of Orange Marmelade and Gothic Lolita. I then drew my pattern using an orange stick. Instead of dipping my finger into the water, I let the whole marble dry on the surface of the water for a good 20 minutes. I took it out carefully and cut it into nail-sized pieces.

I painted my nails with one coat of China Glaze - Solar Power, let that dry for about a minute and then applied the watermarble decals. After trimming the sides of the decal, I applied one layer of Underground Nails Quickie top coat, let that dry and cleaned up around my cuticles. Voilà, there you have your watermarble design without taping your nails, water spilling everywhere and having to redo a nail because it came out meh.

To add something more Halloween-ish to the design I applied black cat water decals I bought from She Sells Seashells. These cats aren't exactly spooky, but I love them anyway. I finished everything off with another layer of top coat.
How do you like this design? And let me know which is your preferred method to marble if you have one!
