Weekend Rewind 60 | My life is scary enough

Last Friday seems like a very long time ago… I can’t remember a time when the weeks didn’t fly by leaving me far below making SOS signals in the sand with coconuts. See, I’ve still got islands on the brain, but it really does seem like ages ago that I was beavering away into the night to produce Capper’s island party. But beaver I did and it went off without a hitch.

It will come as no surprise to you all that I just really, really wanted a quiet week, but alas, I was not given one. I’ve been reluctantly fashioning up three passable Halloween costumes after I foolishly gave into my three-year-long ‘no’ to Halloween and agreed the kids could join their mates and do the junky T&T stranger accosting tonight. So that’s where I am as this post goes live – dragging my sorry ass around the backstreets bothering the neighbours. My life is scary enough without the faux spiders.

I also angsted most of the week about having to go on Twitter for the #voicesof2014 masterclass question corner on Wednesday night. It was just as busy and daunting as I remember it and if you asked me a question and received crickets, just know that this cricket had 389 notifications pop up in just one hour. I am used to about 1 a month.

To add to the angst, our Max is ‘playing up’ and those that know my son well will know how generous I am being with my euphemism. He can make life very tough, my boy, which is one of the reasons I wrote this post about loving the children we have, not the children we think we have

I found this quote when I was gathering my thoughts and it resonated with me a great deal. Kurt Cobain, eh? I think of Kurt Cobain and I remember that I was sitting on the verandah at Manning Bar when the news broke that he was dead. Do you remember where you were?

Love you little Cappers.

Other things that had me this week:

Readingthis awesome article about the worst blogging advice experts have ever received. Gems include ‘content is king’ and ‘publish regularly’… I found the advice surprisingly relaxing.
