Instax mini 8 by Fujifilm

I am so in love with this camera, I just can’t stop staring at it. This analog camera by Fujifilm cost me €59,- during a super good deal from Hema. The Instax mini 8 is a cheaper alternative for the original Polaroid camera. Polaroid cameras became famous for their instant photo print abilities. You only get one picture per click out of the camera so every picture is unique. But Polaroid cameras are pricey and rarely available in Holland.

So I am really happy I found the same type of camera made by Fujifilm. I’m also starting to love the pink color. I really wanted to get the baby blue one because that is my favorite color. But the blue one was sold out very fast so I’m happy I managed to get the pink one. I have been snapping pic’s all week and I just love the nostalgic feeling it gives me. Waiting for the picture to come out and not knowing what it will look like is awesome.

The camera is easy to use and has simple light settings. You can pick one of the five settings, which are indoors, cloudy, sunny, very sunny and high key. You just turn the dial around the lens to pick the one you need. The flash will always go off to provide enough light to develop the photo. The camera operates on two batteries and a cartridge with ten empty photo sheets that you pop into the back. The Instax mini 8 prints photos in credit card size, so they are a bit smaller than the original Polaroid photo size.

The fun thing about the Instax mini 8 is that Fuji provides cartridges with a lot of cute designs. They have the normal ones with the white borders and for example the ones with stars. You can see the frames with stars in this article, they are so cute! I found more prints on the Fuji site, you should check them out! I suggest you check out the site anyway, especially when you are crazy about photography like me.

Which color Instax mini would you like to have?
