Lorac 3D Liquid Lustre Set for Holiday 2014 are Everything!

Shall we talk about my love of glitter & glitz? I think we should! Nothing screams holidays to me quite like an abundance of shimmer & glitters. I adore the drama & the shine that catches all the lights. Glitter can get a seriously bad reputation- something meant only for the young & chunky uncomfortable to wear. That just isn’t true anymore- there are options for us glitter aficionados…& I’m going to share one of my favorite intense shimmer options with you today!

I bought it. Affiliate links.

Lorac Lustre Drops are nothing new to me- I pick them up whenever possible. I actually reviewed a similar limited edition set last year around this time which you can see here. The two shades of Lorac Lustre Drops that are permanent & available year-round are Diamond & Gold which are both gorgeous. Last year the shades in my set were Diamond, Platinum, Amethyst, & Topaz. Now this year we have the Lorac The Royal 3D Liquid Lustre Drops set which contains Opal, 24K, Rose Quartz, & Amethyst. Just in case you thought this was a repeat I wanted to clear that up!

Luckily for me I have all of these shades- from the limited edition to the past shades so I’ll compare them below. You can see the packaging here is the same as usual- a glass dropper bottle. I’ve only ever had one (my oldest) dry out on me & with a bit of makeup setting spray you can perk it right back up. You have to shake each one before use & you should also use the dropper a few times to really get the shimmer mixed up. You can see the packaging is that kind of velvet…which picks up dust & pet hair haha. Sorry about that!

I personally like to apply it to the back of my hand but obviously you can put it on something else if you prefer. They dry quite fast on the eyelids when you gently pat them in but do let them dry. I don’t have issues with creasing but less is more. If you want more shimmer, layer it & don’t just flood your poor eyelid. You can also use these on other places other than your eyes like on your cheeks, lips, & body. Just something to keep in mind since some of these shades can be hard to find in body shimmer. My favorite took has always been my fingertip but you can also use a brush, sponge, etc.

In this set we have 4 shades: Lorac 3D Liquid Lustre Liquid Eye Shimmers in Opal, 24K, Rose Quartz, & Amethyst.

Each shade is quite different & this set has a lot of variety. Opal is a gorgeous blue sheen that is completely different from Diamond. 24K is a softened gold that is more champagne-toned than the permanent Gold shade. Rose Quartz is possibly my favorite- a stunning rose gold. Amethyst is a gray-toned taupe. This Amethyst is actually quite different from the Amethyst shade from last year which had a purple & pink tone.

Swatches from left to right we have the Lorac 3D Liquid Lustre Liquid Eye Shimmers in Amethyst, Rose Quartz, 24K, & Opal.

I actually had to photograph these in low lighting because…wow shimmer transformers can be tough! You can see how amazing these can look but near the bottom of the swatches you can tell they sheer out. You really don’t need much so they last quite a long time. You can really see here the mix of shades in Rose Quartz…I’d love to see something involving purple next year! That’d be fantastic!

Here’s a close up look at 24K over an otherwise average eye look. It is so easy to kick it up & add in some bling! If you just want a touch you can add it to your inner corners or over eyeliner. It is super easy & a fun way to add more pizzazz to the holidays. You can still purchase the Lorac The Royal 3D Liquid Lustre Set for Holiday 2014 from ULTA, Lorac, & Kohls.

So what are your favorite ways to add a bit more bling to your eyes for the holidays? Have you tried any of the Lorac 3D Liquid Lustre Drops? What is your favorite color?
