6 trouser silhouettes to buy this Fall.
It's September. You can deny it all you want but the truth of the matter is that summer is over and you need to start prepping your wardrobe for cooler temps and pumpkin lattes. I say this tongue and cheek because I was just at an event last night joking with another blogger how cliche it is when we all post our first pumpkin spice latte on Instagram. Totes original...said no one ever! And, guilty as charged.
In other news - what's your trouser situation like? I'm here to share six different silhouettes you need in your closet yesterday.
One | DSQUARED2 is killing it this season. Every girl needs a good pair of cigarette pants to pair with flats or pumps. It's a classic, tailored shape that will never go out of style. Think Audrey.
Two | 3.1 Phillip Lim's wide leg trousers are where it's at. You'll elongate your legs while creating a different silhouette that's naturally flattering with a high waist. Take a break from the skinnies. Think Diane Keaton.
Three | BB Dakota just came out with a very affordable version of the faux leather legging and it's hot. Juxtapose this pair with a crisp oxford and keep everyone guessing. Think Katie Holmes.
Four | Margaux Lonnberg combines beautiful tailoring with bold prints in a modern silhouette. This checker print with ankle hem would look amazeballs with a floral top or contrasting stripes up top. Think Gwen Stefani.
Five | Rachel Zoe, my girl, nailed the pleated, slouchy trouser this season in vibrant hues. You always need basic black but your closet is really screaming for cranberry. Well positioned pleating makes for a flattering waist and just enough give. Think Cameron Diaz.
Six | Rachel Pally conjured up my Fall '14 dream pant. The harem is still strong, ladies - but it's refined. Elastic waist, long outseams and beautiful draping. Throw on a sequin crop top and it's boogie nights. Think JLo now...not then.
