The Great Content Struggle of 2014

I knew when I had a baby that the content of this blog was likely to change. I didn't want this to turn into a "mommy blog", so to speak, but it's also a given that, because my daughter is a huge part of my life these days, a lot of my posts would involve baby things.

If we can be honest with one another for a second, I feel like this blog is in a bit of an awkward phase. Fashion and style stuff has taken a bit of a backseat to baby, which I fully expected. But, I'm definitely making more of an effort to revive the the style aspect this spring.

I do realize that not all of my readers are mommas. I also realize that the ages of readers here range from late teens to mid-fifties, which is crazy and awesome!

So, while a post about pacifiers may be just dandy for the mommies of the group, it may not be as riveting to those that aren't in this season of life.

And I want to produce content that resonates with both of those audiences.

I'm also struggling with the issue of how much of our daughter I want to involve in this blog. She is her own little person and will have her own little story to tell someday, if she chooses. Also, it's sort of a scary world out there. I want to protect her and shield her. The blogosphere is full of amazing people, but it also has a few crazies and trolls. And while I know I'll want to chronicle as much of her life as I can, I just question whether this platform is the best place to do that.

I digress.

Not saying anything will drastically change on here just yet, but I'm curious as to what you other moms have done to separate your home life and blog persona, if you will.

1. How do you choose what content to publish regarding your child?
2. Do you even put your kiddo "out there"?
3. Specifically fashion bloggers, how do you divide your content evenly between style and mommy stuff?

Thanks, y'all. Let's talk tomorrow again, okay? ; )

P.S.- If it's any consolation, tomorrow's post is about hair, Thursday's is an outfit post and Friday holds some awesome bracelets, so yeah...we're getting there, friends.
