WEEKLY ROUND-UP: volume one.

I'm nearly finished with Sophia Amoruso's book #GIRLBOSS. Despite the hashtag in the title, it was a surprisingly good read for any young entrepreneur. My favorite parts? The quote "Money looks better in the bank than on your feet". I may seem to have an extensive shoe collection, I'm a firm believer in living well within your means and staying humble. Even though she owns a huge company now, Sophia Amoruso seems to have stayed true to her values. She finally traded in her Nissan Murano for a well-deserved Porsche.

This week definitely consisted of lots of afternoon breaks & snack runs. I have to break up the monotony sometimes, otherwise I look up from my computer and realize that 8 hours have passed by.

I've been working on a ton of DIYs for the blog, and have about 5 unfinished tutorials going at the moment. This is one of my flaws... I have a million DIY ideas and then get overwhelmed and can't seem to finish them. This photo is of a soon-to-be malachite coaster, somewhat inspired by these green Anthropologie ones. If things go as planned, I'll be sharing next week! Fingers crossed.

We've been going on a lot of hikes lately. I've been trying to get to the gym more often, and lifting weights seems to be the only thing that helps my bad back. There's nothing like getting off the treadmill and getting into nature though. Except we took a trail that wasn't intended for us, and ended up walking several miles through fields until we ended up on someone's private property. As you can tell by my large sunglasses and cup of tea, I wasn't ready for anything more than a leisurely stroll.

In honor of the 4th of July, there's a sale going on over in my shop! Lots of rings and things marked down for the weekend. How great is this photo, by the way? Hugette over at the inspiring magazine Disfunkshion snapped this shot. FYI, that pyrite on the right hand can be found right here!
