DIY: quartz point necklace.

I wanted to create a fall statement necklace that looked intricate and store-bought, but only required basic jewelry making skills. These metallic quartz points, paired with white howlite beads, felt right for the season. It's a necklace that's neutral enough to go with any outfit!
What You'll Need:
Everything should be available at Michael's, Joann's, or Hobby Lobby!
Quartz points
Howlite beads
Wire Rope Endcaps Chain Jump rings Toggle closure E6000 Glue Jewelry Pliers Wire cutters
Step 1. Cut 3 or 4 pieces of wire, bend it into a 'U' shape, and start stringing on the beads. Make sure to leave enough extra wire on the ends. (You'll need it later to wrap around the rope!) I chose three howlite beads, three quartz points, and repeated with three howlite beads. Step 2. Cut approximately 8" of rope. Put tape over the spots you'll be cutting to reduce fraying.
Step 3. Decide where to place the beaded wire designs on the rope. Then wrap the wire around the rope and twist it around 2-3 times on each side. Cut the wire.
Step 4. Dot some E6000 glue on the ends of the rope and slide on the end caps. Allow glue to dry.
Step 5. Use the jewelry pliers to attach jump rings to the end caps. Then attach some chain. I used about 10" total of chain.
Step 6. Time to finish off the necklace! Use the jump rings to attach the toggle closure. I added a decorative cotton tassel. A charm or bead would look cute as well, especially if it's a gift for a friend.
